New York Flower District

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

By Kent Pinkerton New York flower districts have a large concentration of wholesale and retail florists in New York City. The district is a small stretch from the streets of 26th to 29th along and off Sixth Avenue. It is considered to be a virtual oasis of beauty in the middle of Manhattan. Any kind of selection of plant and flowers can be found or ordered through the vendors here at the New York Flower District. New York flower districts have decreased considerably over the years. New Yorkers used to buy flowers for every holiday, especially Easter. Millions of flowers and some of the rare species are sold annually in the wholesale flower market in the vicinity between Sixth and Seventh Avenues from 23rd to 26th Streets. One of the New York flower districts is the Garden District. Teleflora provides you information on the local florists in your city. It also ensures the quality and the freshness of the floral arrangements. These arrangements are made by a New York professional, giving your floral gift its deserved attention. Capital District flowers are considered to be one of the major events of the New York flower districts. The Annual Capital District Flower and Garden Show is one of the major events. It benefits the Wildwood program. The participation of different vendors, attractive garden landscape displays, workshops, and demonstrations are a few highlights of this event. Chelsea Garden Center is a popular flower district, with an indoor and an outdoor market. It has one of the best all around selections of plants and flowers available. Sometimes you dont even need to be buying to get a rush from the citys shopping. Walking down 28th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, one can see piles of roses furled tight on the sidewalks along the banks of orchids. It is considered to be the heart of the wholesale flower district. New York Flowers provides detailed information on New York Flower Delivery, New York Flower District, New York Flower Market, New York Flower Shops and more. Strategic Tips For Effective Testimonials According To Your Strategic Thinking Business Coach

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

By Glenn Ebersole Testimonials can be very powerful, especially when they are strategically sought from well respected and satisfied clients. Testimonials are much more powerful than advertisements since they are basically unpaid third party endorsements of your company or organization. There are three major reasons why your business should seek and use testimonials. + to build strong bonds of trust + to improve the credibility of your company + to demonstrate your success There are 2 types of testimonials, the solicited and the unsolicited. The unsolicited testimonials come to you without any effort on your part. The client takes the initiative and contacts you directly with their testimonial. It may come via telephone, person-to-person conversations, email, or the US postal service. Solicited testimonials are the result of a conscious effort by you to pursue them. Here are some tips for effective testimonials from Your Strategic Thinking Business Coach. Strategic Tip #1: Use a variety of tools to solicit your testimonials, including comment cards, customer satisfaction surveys, feedback or contact us sections on your website, and direct solicitation of a client. Strategic Tip #2: Be proactive in soliciting testimonials from your satisfied clients and customers. This should be a part of your strategic marketing efforts. Strategic Tip #3: Offer to facilitate the preparation of a client testimonial by preparing 2 different versions of a testimonial for them and let them choose which one they prefer or edit what you gave them for their submission to you. Strategic Tip #4: Effective testimonials are specific and focus on a single idea. A single focus will provide greater impact. Strategic Tip #5: Always make sure that the testimonial has a name, and as appropriate a title and name of organization, at the end of it. Strategic Tip #6: Effective testimonials include an emotion or emotions. Strategic Tip #7: The most effective testimonials include a specific and definable benefit. Strategic Tip #8: Display the testimonials you have received by incorporating the testimonials into your companys marketing materials and on your website. Strategic Tip #9: Try to obtain a testimonial from your client and/or customer as soon as possible. This could be as early as right after the contract is signed. Strategic Tip #10: Always seek permission to use the client testimonials. Bad Date Survival Tips

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

By Lawrence Andrews Occasionally, a bad date happens to one person at a certain point in his or her life. One should do some assessment before writing off the person for life. No sparks at all? Too nervous to open any topic? Is he or she being rude? Here are some things that you can do. How to deal with a bad date? Or when you are the one who’s about to make it bad… 1. If you are feeling too nervous opt for a date over coffee. You will have less time fidgeting due too overnervousness since after finishing your coffee you can easily bid your date a quick “ta-ta”. 2. There is no excuse for a date that is obnoxious and rude. Walk away Renee. 3. You and your date are not on the same wavelength? Endure the date, maintain your composure and leave politely. If your date asks for an extension, say an after meal drink, you can always politely (again) say no. 4. If you unintentionally insult your date, simply apologize then move on. If your insult is not that severe, your date might just forgive and forget. 5. Never provide entertainment at your expense. Humor is cool, self-bashing is not. It is not worth it to make your self feel uncomfortable trying to impress your date. How to move on? 1. Don’t punish yourself for a date that went horrible. Save it somewhere in your mind that is remote. Or better yet, commend yourself for being able to go through it. Learn from your mistakes. 2. Share the details with a friend. This way you can treat it more of a laughingstock than something that will haunt you for life. 3. Get occupied with other activities so you can forgive yourself and forget about the bad date. Exercising, eating something sweet or watching a movie will make the bad vibes go away sooner than you expect. 4. Honesty and kindness are a good combination when it comes to turning down a bad date that would like a second round. Say something a bit blunt but peppered with some praise — is that an oxymoron? 5. Now, if you think that the person still deserves a second chance, by all means, give him or her the second try. You can always laugh the bad date incident away when you are more comfortable with each other. Your Grand Entrance To Your Reception - Why Be Normal?

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

By Rob Alberti If you dont want to do formal introductions, but still want some sort of grand entrance, then what can you do? We have had several couples in the past that wanted to do something unique. This is what weve come up with as a solution: the GRAND MARCH. We wont introduce each member of the bridal party or your parents. We will simply find a song that you like, bring up the volume, and have all of you march in procession into the room. Typically we will bring the wedding couple right out onto the dance floor and into your first dance after the GRAND MARCH. Other times, we will do a BUTLER STYLE TOAST and have the banquet staff hand out champagne glasses on serving trays (instead of placing them at table settings). All your guests will circle the dance floor with their champagne glasses in hand. We will introduce you into the center of the dance floor with all your family and friends close by. Then the best man comes forward for the toast, which flows right into your first dance, with family and friends still circling nearby at the edge of the dance floor. It is a very unique and personal feel to the introductions and toast. You can swing to the other extreme and have separate songs for each person or couple and your DJ/MC can say a quick sentence or two about each person. This is a great way to personalize an otherwise boring anouncment of names. Many times, this is refered to as a “Love Story Introduction”. You can mention how your cousin in the wedding party saved you from drowning as a child or that your Maid of Honor has been your college roomate for the last 6 years. Your DJ/MC can even tell a little story about how the two of you met and a brief history of your dating one another. Ask your professional DJ about these options at your wedding reception. The Informal Normal In a Black-Tie-Affair World

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

By Stanley Leffew Have you noticed the trend? You ever notice how on programs like “The Bachelor” most of their dating episodes are via limousine escort? They travel to lavish destinations amid scenic splendor. The sunsets are so beautiful you can almost hear nature singing its own rendition of, “Love Is A Many Splendid Thing”. You rarely ever even see a rainy day. In “Sleepless In Seattle”, the audience was left “Speechless in New York” atop the Empire State Building. The climactic romantic interlude that followed is one that will be etched in the memory of movie-lovers for a long time to come. In “Sabrina”, the audience feels the eloquent charm and ambience of Paris. “You’ve Got Mail” spammed us with the scenic elegance and grandeur of all that’s good in and around “The Big Apple”. If you really want to be depressed, sit and watch some of the work out programs that abound. Watch as brisk morning breezes enrapture the velvety clouds tracing the horizon from the backdrops of scenic vistas and ocean views. Who couldn’t be motivated to work out? We easily become captivated by “Lifestyles of The Rich and Famous”, “Cribs”, and the latest craze of “Extreme Make Over-Home Edition”, dreaming if only… Watch a few of the music videos that abound at VH1, MTV and BET. You will see more money, lavish diamonds, fancy fashions, flashy gold jewelry, expensive limousines and other fine automobiles watching these music video programs for one hour than most people will see in the average lifetime. All commercials seem to have the same goal in mind to make us feel that their product is the missing link to our imminent happiness. We live in a Black Tie Affair World! No wonder so many people struggle with comparisons. When one becomes enamored by the glitz and the glamour so prevalent in our culture, it is easy to feel relationally shortchanged and cheated in life. This Black-Tie-Affair mindset causes many couples to strive to keep up with the Joneses to the point of being maxed out to the hilt in financial demise from debt. Money issues are cited as one of the biggest reasons for the breakdown in the family leading to divorce. Are you struggling with the fantasy? Are you confused with all the hoopla? Is this life reality? Is this relational reality? Is it reality? If it is, I must be missing something. I must have made a wrong turn in the road somewhere. Most of the families I know must have made the wrong turn with me. Although my wife and I love each other very much, much of our relationship life is spent, well, INFORMALLY NORMAL. A day in the life for most couples is spent: * Punching the old inevitable time clock. * Doing the dishes and the laundry. * Cooking. * Paying bills. * Fighting colds, headaches and fatigue. * Changing diapers. * Bathing the kids and getting them ready for bed. * Getting up the next day and doing it all over again. Most of the world struggles with getting up, getting old, getting fat, getting sick or simply getting by. So, do yourself a favor. Stop buying in to all the hoopla and falsehood. If you get caught in this web of deceit, you just may miss out on what really matters - faith, family, character and integrity. The last time I checked, love wasn’t defined by the word MONEY. For words that better define love you may want to consider: commitment, sacrifice, support, unselfishness, home building, encouragement, forgiveness, planning and working together. Maybe a bit informal and normal…maybe not as flashy as dollar signs…but ironically, a lot richer! Copyright 2004 advice-for-lifetime-relationships.com by Stanley J. Leffew ALL RIGHTS RESERVED!
